Step-by-step guides on how to obtain your UPS Client ID and Client Secret

Reminders: You can browse the UPS Developer portal by visiting https://developer.ups.com. If you do not have an account yet, you can sign up for one on the same page. However, you can log in using your credentials if you already have an account.

1. Log in to your UPS Developer portal https://developer.ups.com

2. Click on the "My Apps" button and then Add Apps

3. Choose the purpose for requiring the API credentials.

4. Choose the Account. Proceed by clicking the Next button.

5. Fill your address and contact information

6. Name your App

  • Add products Authorization, Address Validation, Locator, Paperless Documents, Shipping, Rating and Tracking API
  • Leave the “Callback URL” field blank or enter your company website URL

7.  Save and Accept Terms and your apps is created. 

8. Open your App and now you can locate your Client ID and Client Secret ID.

9. Login to Connected Business Desktop Apps > Shipping > Setup > Carrier Plugin and open UPS. Select the correct warehouse if you have more than 1 warehouse.

Reminders: The "Test Mode" box must be checked if you want to run some test shipments otherwise it will connect to the Production URL and generate a production label regardless of whatever Server token URL entered.
