How to Disallow Customer to Add Items to Cart if it is Out Of Stock

Synopsis: How to Disallow Customer to Add Items to Cart if it is Out Of Stock?

Solution:

You can either:

A. Go to eCommerce Module > Setup Application Configuration >Look for Inventory.LimitCartToQuantityOnHand

When Inventory.LimitCartToQuantityOnHand is set to true, the site will display a message "product does not have enough stock to be ordered" to inform the customer that the item is not available for purchase.

 

 

B. Go to eCommerce Module > Setup > Application Configuration > Look for HideOutOfStockProducts.

When HideOutOfStockProducts is set to true, out of stock products will not be shown on the website.
