Customer Refund Error: Pre-Authorization check failed

Synopsis:

When processing the credit card payment, the user encountered the error message as “pre-authorization check failed”.  Complete error as shown below:

Unable to process the following credit card payments:
CRFND-xxxxx3-Pre-Authorization check failed:
Digit check failed. Pre-Authorization check failed: Card number does not match the assigned card type.

Solutions:

Error message appeared because of any of the following reasons:

1. Invalid card number.
2. The credit card type doesn't match the card number.
3. Expired card.

If the cause is one of the above, it will be indicated in the message when you click the notification box. Please try the refund again. Then, click the notification window when it appeared. Once you identified the cause, verify that the credit card information entered is correct and the card is not expired.
