Synopsis:

After the upgrade to IS version 5.5R3, the system does not allow entering any decimal quantity in the Inventory Weight Field 

Solution:

This is an issue with the upgrade and is caused by the Quantity Decimal Place value in the Inventory Preference set to zero. As a workaround, 

1. Run and log in to the IS Client Application.

2. Go to Inventory module > Setup > Look for Preferences 

3. Double-click the Preferences. Change Quantity Decimal Place value to 1,2,3 or 6.
